And the clouds lift

by Janie Jones

I haven’t really had much time for the blogosphere this week, but not for lack of material.  So to sum up my week:

Birthday fun!  As you can tell from my 6WS post much cake was consumed.

All my holiday shopping is done, however, we needs must yet commence to the wrapping and the card sending.

Saw Arthur Christmas yesterday as part of the Spud’s birthday present/revelry.  The whole family enjoyed it.  Probably worth every penny of the $18.75 plus snacks that we paid to see it.  And, for me to admit that is saying something.

I have just 4 more days of school, two of which are finals.   And, I GOT AN A IN SPANISH so I don’t have to sit for the final!!!!  Fiesta!!!!  There’s a couple of smallish assignments yet to complete, but at least the last of the misery inducing, I’d-rather-bathe-in-boiling-radioactive-sewage-than-do-these-assignments homework projects was completed yesterday, so all is good on the school front.

All in all, it was a good week, although we had some pretty rough moments getting here.  What I think makes me happiest right now though is knowing that I can really begin to enjoy what is one of my most favorite times of year.

Six Word Saturday: Let them eat cake!

by Janie Jones

This post has nothing to do with revolutions, unless eating cake for breakfast lunch and dinner for a week constitutes a diet revolution. No, Monday was my birthday, so naturally I had to eat a whole cake. Leif, not being a big sweets eater, and the spud having her own pink birthday cupcakes (her birthday was Thursday) was busily devouring her own birthday treat. And, we simply couldn’t waste it. Nope. That would be ungrateful, and I’m never ungrateful of birthday cake. Although I can’t really share with you all, here’s a virtual piece and my 6 Word Saturday offering:

One bit of birthday cake left!

It’s that special time of year…

by Janie Jones

When we take a short break in holiday revelry to celebrate some birthdays.  Birthdays!  Yeay!

Personally, I love my birthday.  It’s actually tomorrow, December 5th.  But, as I have to go to school tomorrow, we will celebrate today.  There is a birthday cake waiting for me, and a big gift bag waiting to be opened on the dining room table.  *Squeal*  Exciting times!

Thursday, the eighth is the spud’s birthday, so we will undoubtedly have much more squealing and  revelry.

Okay, I’ll fill you in more on the birthday fun later, now I’m going to have cake for breakfast and open my present.
